Purley Bowls Club currently has approximately 84 men and 44 lady members. We play on a 6-rink green regarded as one of the best in the area. We have a purpose-built clubhouse with good facilities, including a clubroom, and men’s and women’s changing rooms.
As we are part of Purley Sports Club, we also have full access to the club bar, which provides good bar meals at reasonable prices, and the club dining room for formal meals and functions.
During the summer we play friendly and competitive matches throughout the outdoor season from late April to the end of September, as well as club and external competitions and fun drives on Bank Holidays. During the year we also hold various social activities such as a quiz night, an outing to Eastbourne, a captain’s barbecue, entertainment evenings and other events.
During the winter we use the dining room for short mat bowls - a very social activity and a good introduction to bowls. We use our two, new, indoor mats to run an afternoon league and evening league, and individual, pairs and triples tournaments.
