On Wednesday 6th May 2026 Purley Bowls Club welcomed the Royal Hospital Chelsea Bowls Club for a 4 rink Match.

The match with the Chelsea Pensioners took place in good weather. A cool breeze forced Purley players to don their warmer bowls clothing but the RHC players seemed unperturbed by the cool wind with most playing in short sleeves.

The match was played in very good humour with plenty of conversation and fun jibes.

We also wlecomed some residents and staff from the Chestnut Garden Care Homes on Foxley Lane who thoroughly enjoyed the bowls and we hope to welcome them back for more matches in the future.
