Arrival and Match Start
• Please arrive quietly, 10 minutes before your match starts.
• You may enter the room when a match is in play but please check first if entering the room will disturb someone who is preparing to bowl.
• Please have your bowls in the room, your measuring equipment and chalk to hand and your bowls shoes on before the match is due to start.
• Please start promptly otherwise you may run out of time, and/or the following matches may be delayed.
Match Etiquette
• Avoid unnecessary delays to your match by ensuring you are ready to bowl when it is your turn.
• During your match, please respect other bowlers by remaining quiet and standing still when they are bowling.
• Remain behind the fender at all times and only go to the head when all bowlers at your end have delivered all their bowls.
• If you plan to bowl a running bowl or a fire please inform all players on both mats and spectators before you play your bowl.
• Let your skip/opponent know if you have to leave for a toilet break.
Scoring Etiquette
• When deciding shot bowl only 1 player from each team should engage in the decision process.
• To ensure that the game progresses without delay, if you are in doubt about whether a bowl counts, dont discuss it, measure it.
• Only designated persons to change the scoreboard.
Match Completion Etiquette
• If the allotted end time for the session is less than 3 minutes away do not start another end.
• If the allotted end time for the match has expired end your match at the end of your current end.
• Move clear from the mat in good time for the next match to set up and start.
• When leaving the room if a match is ongoing please check first when leaving the room that you will not disturb someone who is preparing to bowl.
