SHORT MAT BOWLS WINTER 2026/2027

During September we are holding four Open Days where you will have the opportunity to try out Short Mat Bowls.

The Open days are on:-

  • Monday 7th September;   10:30am – 12:30am   and 2:00pm – 4::00pm
  • Tuesday 8th September     2:00pm – 4::00pm
  • Monday 14th September;  10:30am – 12:30am   and 2:00pm – 4::00pm
  • Tuesday 15th September.  2:00pm – 4::00pm

Please come along if you would like to give it a try. All you need is flat-soled shoes.

If you do not possess your own bowls, we can loan you the bowls, provide some coaching, and explain the rules.

Short Mat Charges

There is no charge for the Open Days.

REGISTRATION FOR OPEN DAYS AND FOR THE SEASON

Bowls Club Members – To register for a session on an Open Day, kindly email Demetrios Souppouris with your contact details and your preferred date(s) as soon as possible. Purley Bowls Club members can register to play the 2026/2027 Short Mat season by entering your name on the sign-up sheet on the notice board in the Bowls Club room. The deadline for registrations is Tuesday 15th September.

Non-Bowls Club Members – If you are not a bowls club member please ring Purley Sports Club reception on 020 8660 0608, or email Purley Sports club at purleyreception@purleysportsclub.co.uk and they will put you in touch with the Short Mat Bowls organisers to discuss the open days and/or registration for the full season.
